(The view from our table at Novo Restaurant.)
During my spring break road trip, my friend and I were only in San Luis Obispo (SLO) for 2 nights, and that was definitely not enough! That adorable little town has gorgeous scenery, good shopping, a well-restored mission, the Paso Robles wineries up the street, beaches down the street . . . oh and let's not forget--good food!
There were tons of adorable looking restaurants, but we actually ended up eating at Novo Restaurant twice (brunch and dinner) because we liked it so much! It had a gorgeous outdoor patio that backed right up to a little creek. The food was delicious. I can still remember the taste of the salmon bisque and the lamb over polenta because they were that good. There was one little hiccup. One of my friend's brunch items came out room temperature when it should have been hot, but the waitress handled the situation expertly and fixed the problem right away. Aaah just thinking about it while I type this review makes me wish we were back there!
PS: If you are in SLO and you're looking for something else, this place looked swanky but still super fun, and the menu made my mouth water! We couldn't get a reservation on a Saturday night until like 10 p.m., so we never ended up trying it. But if you've been, let me know what you thought! I'd love to go back to SLO, and this is top on my list when I do.
