Happy Cinco de Mayo! Did you do anything festive today? Jeremy and I did not, but we did have a lovely date. We went to MOCA, which is free on Thursday nights, and then got sushi at Sugarfish. MOCA was interesting. Half of the works I really liked, and half were totally over my head. But the museum is the perfect size. Just large enough to keep you entertained, but small enough so you don't get overwhelmed. These are some of my favorite pieces we saw.
I'm sorry I don't have any pictures of the sushi that we followed up our museum trip with, but take my word, Sugarfish is worth a visit! It's one of those "pure" sushi restaurants -- no fancy rolls with crazy ingredients or sauces. I thought I would not be a fan because I love all those fancy, American-ized rolls. But I haven fallen in love with this place. The flavor of the fish really does shine through in a way I've never experienced before.
PS: I didn't really get what was going on in this last piece of art. But it had a chicken, and I loved that!
